San Francisco is a foodie’s paradise. Whether you're sneaking in a quick slice of pizza between photos or planning to go out for dinner with friends after your elopement, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite spots to fuel up for your big day. And, don’t worry, there are plenty of options for cocktails too (because obviously). So let’s dive into the best places where to eat in San Francisco, many of these locations are tried-and-true from past elopements!

Lunch and Snacks

Tony’s Pizza Napoletana

Pizza is always a good idea, and Tony’s in North Beach has really perfected it. With every style of pizza imaginable and gluten-free options available, you’ll be sitting there thinking, “Could this BE any more delicious?”

Golden Boy Pizza

This is another great pizza spot in SF, best known for its thick focaccia bread serving as a pizza base. The clam and garlic slice is the ultimate choice here, and it’s a perfect thing to grab and continue on adventuring!

Brioche Bakery & Cafe

If you’re looking for a sweet pick-me-up or a light lunch, this ca has pastries, coffee, and sandwiches that will make you feel like you’re living your best Parisian life. Although the name might imply something different, they do have quite a wide selection of nice meals to eat, like salads and soup too!

In-N-Out

Because sometimes you just want a Double-Double and fries. In-N-Out is a cult classic (and personally, my absolute fave!!) for a reason, and being in fancy dress shouldn’t stop you from having a burger on your elopement day.

Tartine Bakery

Tartine is basically bread and pastry heaven. Their morning bun might be the best thing to happen to mornings since caffeine. Since it can get quite crowded here, it is always a good idea to grab things to go and eat somewhere with nice scenery!

Zazie

Do you like brunch? This French-inspired bistro in Cole Valley is brunch central, and they also have outdoor seating available, which is always nice when the weather is good!

Pat’s Cafe

For hearty breakfasts, traditional American cuisine, and a cozy vibe, you could also check out Pat’s Cafe. There has never been a sadness that can't be cured by breakfast food.

Dinner Spots

Wayfare Tavern

Wayfare Tavern features authentic American dishes inspired by the San Francisco restaurant scene of the early 1900s. This place has those elevated comfort food vibes, and their fried chicken was voted best in the city, so this really is a great place for celebration!

For couples looking to splurge a little on their big day, Boulevard offers a stunning combination of sophisticated American cuisine and breathtaking views of the Bay Bridge. The interior here oozes romance and moody elegance, really giving those fancy vibes!

Lolinda

This Argentinian steakhouse in the Mission District is Ron Swanson’s paradise. From perfectly grilled ribeyes to empanadas that melt in your mouth and, of course, steak, Lolinda has a great selection of meat. Their rooftop terrace is the cherry on top!

Foreign Cinema

Where else can you eat while watching classic films projected on the wall in a romantic courtyard? Foreign Cinema is perfect for dinner and entertainment.

Waterbar

Waterbar, located right on the Embarcadero, is one for seafood lovers! Here, you can enjoy absolutely breathtaking Bay views while eating delicious fish, oysters, and more!

Original Joe's

This North Beach spot combines classic Italian-American in the kitchen and they also have a very lively bar scene. I love the upscale diner vibes of this place and their open kitchen, so you can actually see how they make all the goodies!

Aesthetically Pleasing Cocktail Bars

Starlite Lounge at the Beacon Grand Hotel

This swanky rooftop bar is perfection, with low lighting and cocktails that taste as good as they look. It’s the kind of place where you’ll feel like the main characters in a noir film! But if you’re after a bit more traditional cocktail bar vibes, you could check out the Bar near the hotel lobby instead.

Top of the Mark

Perched atop the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel, this bar offers 360-degree views of the city and an extensive martini menu. It’s beautiful, it’s vintage and very charming.

House of Shields

This historic bar has been around since 1908, and it’s still serving up timeless cocktails in a cozy, old-school atmosphere. To honor old traditions, they don’t have TVs or even clocks around, which is so unique!

Propagation

Plants, plants, and more plants. Propagation is a Nob Hill bar that also has somehow managed to achieve beautiful garden vibes. Get a floral-inspired cocktail and enjoy the beautiful garden bar atmosphere!

Pacific Cocktail Haven

With tropical vibes and a killer cocktail menu, P.C.H. brings a little island magic to Union Square. It’s fun, it’s flavorful, and it’s the perfect way to end an adventurous day.

San Francisco is the place to eat, drink, and celebrate love in all its forms. Whether you’re eloping with just the two of you or keeping it tiny with a couple of friends, these spots will help you make your day extra special. And if you end the night with a cocktail in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other, well, I’d say you nailed it.
